How can we help you?
After receiving your artwork
Gather supplies for unpacking
- Cotton Gloves – Prevent fingerprints, smudges, and skin oils from transferring to the artwork.
- Box Cutter / Utility Knife – For carefully opening cardboard boxes and tape without damaging the inner packing.
- Scissors – Useful for cutting packing tape, bubble wrap, or twine with more control than a knife.
- Microfiber Cloth – For gently wiping dust or particles off protective glass or frames.
- Soft Blanket or Felt Pad – Provides a clean, cushioned surface to place artwork during unpacking.
- Bubble Wrap – Used for repacking or extra protection if the customer needs to store the art again.
- Archival Tissue Paper – Acid-free, non-abrasive paper for safe handling of the art surface.
- Measuring Tape – Helps when checking fit for hanging in the intended wall space.
- Optional Small Pry Bar (for Crates) – If art is shipped in wooden crates, a mini crowbar allows careful removal without damage.
- Screwdriver Set – Needed if the artwork arrives secured with brackets inside a crate.
- Painter’s Tape (Low-Tack) – For marking wall placement or temporarily securing protective layers without residue.
- Level Tool – Ensures artwork hangs straight once unpacked and displayed.
How to choose a suitable place?
After carefully unpacking your piece, take a moment to imagine where it will live. A suitable place balances visibility, light, and harmony with your surroundings. Choose a wall where the artwork can be appreciated without direct sunlight, which may fade colors over time. Avoid overly humid or hot areas, and aim for a spot with stable temperature and good airflow. Consider the scale of the piece relative to the wall and nearby furniture—art often shines best at eye level and with some breathing space around it. Above all, trust your instincts: the right place is where the painting feels naturally at home and refreshes the space every time you see it.
Clean the area, Wash your hands, and Wear gloves
When you’re ready to unpack your fine art, first prepare a clean, uncluttered area to work in. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly, then put on cotton gloves to protect the artwork from oils or marks. Unpack slowly and with care, making sure each layer of wrapping is removed gently to keep the piece safe.
Unpack with care
Lay the package on a stable, soft, and clean surface, away from sharp objects or liquids. Gently cut through the outer layers without pressing too deep, and peel back the wrapping slowly to avoid sudden movements. Support the frame or canvas with both hands as it emerges, ensuring it never rests directly on a hard floor.
Inspect for Damage
Inspect your artwork under soft light. Look for scratches or dents or any signs of damage that might occurred during transport, and ensure the frame and hardware are secure. If you notice any damage, document it with photographs of packaging and art damage for further assistance.
Commission Request
For buyers: How does the commission process work?
To start the process, we require a non-refundable 50% deposit of the artwork's price. This deposit includes shipping, and any taxes will be calculated and added to your final invoice. The artist may also provide sketches for your approval before beginning. We will keep you updated throughout the creation with progress photos to ensure the work aligns with your vision. Once the piece is complete and you are satisfied, you'll pay the remaining 50% plus any customs or duties, and we will ship the artwork to you.
Are commissions eligible for promotional discounts?
Unfortunately, promotional discounts cannot be applied to commissioned artworks, as these custom pieces are often more laborious and time-consuming for the artist.
